Notice of AGM on May 10, 2018

We are pleased to notify you that the Annual General Meeting (the “AGM”) of ARMA Vancouver Island will be held:

ON: Thursday, May 10, 2018 at 6:00 p.m.
AT: Argyle Attic, 777 Courtney Street, Victoria (upstairs) (https://www.argyleattic.com/)
For the following purposes: 1.To approve the Minutes of the Annual General Meeting held May 16, 2017 2.To receive the annual reports of the Board of Directors 3.To run Board elections 4.To transact such other business as may properly come before the meeting

NOTE: Arrive at 5:30 to meet other ARMA VI members and for general discussion (appetizers will be served before the meeting is called to order at 6:00 p.m.)

We encourage all members to attend the AGM as it’s a great opportunity to meet fellow records and information management professionals and find out what the Chapter has been up to this year.

We also encourage all members to consider volunteering on the ARMA VI Chapter 2018/19 Board. Volunteering is an excellent opportunity to contribute directly to your organization; to further develop your leadership skills; and to build personal connections with others working or interested in the RIM field! We hope both experienced RIM practitioners and those new to RIM will consider volunteering.

Board Positions Available for Nomination
—President Elect— Assists the President in performing any duties, and, in the absence or withdrawal of the President, assumes the duties and obligations of the President. Attends monthly Board meetings. Three-year commitment: July 1, 2018 to June 30, 2021 (One year President Elect; One year as President; and One year as Past President).

—Treasurer— Responsible for administering Chapter funds, including preparing budgets, keeping full and accurate accounting of receipts and expenditures, making disbursements as authorized, and preparing and submitting reports. Attends monthly Board meetings. Two-year term: July 1, 2018 to June 30, 2020.

—Secretary— Records the minutes of all meetings of the Board of Directors and General Membership; maintains records of the Chapter; and other duties normally incident to the position. Attends monthly Board meetings. Two-year term: July 1, 2018 to June 30, 2020.

—Members at Large— Attends monthly Board meetings. Contributes to the operation of the Chapter in an ad hoc basis or in a specific functional role. We would particularly like to hear from in those who are interested in assuming the role of Programming Director, Website, or Marketing Director. One-year term: July 1, 2018 to June 30, 2019.

According to the ARMA Vancouver Island bylaws, all ARMA members in good standing are eligible to nominate themselves or others to fill these leadership roles.
